Two Cases of Renal Infections Which Tend to Misdiagnosis as Renal Tumor on CT Scan

Abstract

|
CT scan seems to offer a very sensitive method of evaluating the renal parenchyma in case of suspected inflammation but occasionally it could be difficult to differentiate renal infection from renal tumor. CT-or sonography-guided percutaneous aspiration with cytologic examination is the procedure of choice for the lesions which are indeterminate on CT scan. We reviewed two cases of renal infection which were misdiagnosed as renal tumor on CT scan.
